News Break: 3 Wonder Women Spotted!

I have always loved volunteering and getting involved, but felt as if I wasn’t making the impact I wanted when I was volunteering alone. Then, I joined Rotary. Rotary is more than just a club, it is a place where neighbors and friends join forces to share ideas, solve problems, and take action to create long lasting change all over the world, in local communities, and in ourselves.

With over 1.2 million members and 16 million volunteer hours a year, we have taken action locally and globally and persevered until we delivered real solutions. The causes we focus on include promoting peace, fighting disease, providing clean water, saving mothers and children, supporting education, and growing local economies. Our passionate members use their integrity and intelligence to produce solutions. For example, because of Rotary, 2.5 BILLION children have been immunized against polio.

As a member of Rotary, you’re not just changing the world, you are also changing yourself. The world is getting better and so are you! With all of the club activities, social events, and of course, the volunteer projects that we have offer you a chance to meet and network with like minded people. This also assists in creating personal and professional connections that can be local or extend by visiting other clubs around the globe.

They have a wide variety of different programs for people of all ages. Some of these include youth programs, peace fellowships, community corps, and youth exchanges where students learn a new language, discover another culture, and truly become global citizens. These programs are designed to help the next generation of leaders to develop by providing funding to make the world a better place and to instill values of peace as a top priority.

Their mission is to “provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through our fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders.” If this sounds like something you would be interested in, become one of Rotary’s people of action. Whatever your age or interest is, Rotary will have an opportunity for you. Connect with a local Rotary club to find out how you can get involved or head over to their website rotary.org!
